If I committed a crime..

I would accept the penalty. Why is our justice system based off of the idea that whoever has the most convincing yet fallacious lawyer can be considered "innocent"? Even if- God forbid- I murdered someone, I would admit it and not try to hide or pretend that I am, in fact, most innocent.

Yes, whoever has the most money, and/or who can lie the most convincingly, wins. Courtrooms are about theatre, not about the law or, God forbid, justice. That's why no one believes in the court system's efficacy. And it's also why there will always be a place for vigilantism in society.
