When this year concludes, it shall be my first decade of complete coherency. My first complete decade that not only did I live in, but took a part in, and remember fully.
I remember when I used to count my age in months, and then in half-years. I remember when every passing minute was an eternity to my young consciousness, and how a summer lasted a thousand years.
I remember looking forward to the distant Year 2000, and thinking how old I would be then. Now I look backward to the distant Year 2000, and remember how young I was then.
